THE PLAN
The Watkins Road Sanitary Sewer Project was designed to modernize Marysville’s wastewater system, improve flow efficiency, and consolidate two aging pump stations into the new Watkins Road Pump Station connecting to an industrial park. The plan included upgrading both sanitary and stormwater infrastructure while maintaining operational reliability and safety throughout construction.
THE WORK
The work was completed in phases over 2023-2025:
2023-24: Installed the majority of gravity sewer (6,800 LF, 12”–36“ up to 30’ deep) and 4,400 LF of 12” forcemain, and decommissioned the Square Drive and Watkins Glen Pump Stations. Partial storm sewer work also began.

2025: Completed the final phase of 2,100 LF of 48” storm sewer, final asphalt paving, and site restoration with seeding.
Deep sewer installations and multiple system coordination required meticulous planning, precise execution, and strict adherence to safety standards throughout the project.
THE RESULTS
The project successfully consolidated wastewater flows, enhanced stormwater management, and modernized the City’s infrastructure. Work was delivered on schedule and on budget, demonstrating VTF Excavation’s expertise in handling complex underground utility projects safely and efficiently.
