Utility/Pipe Laborer

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Utility / Pipe Layer is responsible for installing underground utility systems, including sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and waterlines. This role plays a key part in keeping projects moving safely and on schedule.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Install underground utilities like storm sewer, sanitary sewer, and waterlines

Perform trench work, pipe laying, and backfilling operations

Set grades using lasers and leveling equipment
-
Occasionally operate equipment like payloaders, skid loaders, and excavators
-
Perform site restoration including grading, seeding, and surface repairs
-
Assist with concrete work like sidewalks, curbs, and flatwork as needed
-
Work alongside operators and laborers to complete projects on schedule
-
Follow all OSHA and company safety standards

Maintain clean and organized job sites

Identify and work safely around existing underground utilities
QUALIFICATIONS
-
Prior experience in underground utility construction or pipe laying preferred
-
Knowledge of trench safety and excavation practices
-
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and grade stakes
-
Ability to work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions
-
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical labor daily

Valid driver’s license (CDL is a plus) – Training Available
