Entry Level Equipment Operator

VTF Excavation is looking for Entry Level Equipment Operators to join our team in Celina, Ohio. We are a heavy highway, mainline utility, building site, and bridge construction company seeking motivated individuals who are ready to learn and grow in the excavation and construction industry.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, operating equipment, and being part of a hardworking crew. While previous experience is helpful, we are willing to train the right candidate.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

High school diploma or equivalent

General working knowledge of construction equipment preferred

Experience in heavy highway, excavation, or construction work is a plus
-
Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment

Strong attention to detail and safety awareness

Willingness to perform both equipment operation and general labor tasks
JOB DESCRIPTION
-
Operating heavy equipment such as rollers, sheepsfoot compactors, haul trucks, and tractors with pull-type pans
-
Assisting with the operation of dozers, excavators, skid loaders, and other heavy highway equipment as experience grows

Performing daily equipment inspections and routine maintenance
-
Working in rhythm with other operators and crew members to keep projects moving efficiently

Assisting with excavation, grading, and site preparation tasks

Performing general labor duties when not operating equipment, including:

Digging trenches or ditches

Backfilling excavations
-
Leveling earth to grade specifications
-
Using hand tools such as shovels, picks, pry bars, and rakes
-
Lifting materials and assisting other crew members
