Halifax Subdivision

Troy, Ohio

THE PLAN

The Halifax Subdivision is part of a recent development project in Troy, Ohio created to make way for more housing. VTF Excavation was entrusted by Harlow Builders to complete the sitework for more than 150 new homes.

THE WORK

This 80-acre residential site development included the creation of 102 house building pads and 54 duplex/triplex villa building pads. Additionally, 10 ponds were developed along with site balancing and street widening. This multi-faceted project was projected to take four months and took a lot of coordination with the owner for site development, the City of Troy for street widening work, and engineer for site balancing.

THE RESULTS

The work for the subdivision was completed safely, below budget and on-time even with challenges. The site lacked suitable clay for the building pads and the ponds’ water holding capabilities, therefore swift adjustments had to be made. Site balancing helped maximize suitable on-site materials and saved money on the project overall. With the help of multiple crews, we were able to meet the deadlines for the city and site owner and asphalt could be poured to begin construction on schedule.
